Satellite images of Iran show mass graves for coronavirus victims in the city with the first and most significant outbreak in the country, the Washington Post reported.
Qom, located 80 miles south of Iran’s capital Tehran, is where Iranian officials traced the origins of the country’s coronavirus outbreak that has infected over 9,000 people and killed more than 350, the Wall Street Journal reported

Qom, located 80 miles south of Iran’s capital Tehran, is where Iranian officials traced the origins of the country’s coronavirus outbreak that has infected over 9,000 people and killed more than 350, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

Iranian officials reported 75 new deaths in 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 429 as of Thursday, according to Reuters.

Qom is a pilgrimage site for Shia Muslims, attracting millions of pilgrims every year. It is also where morgue directors are having trouble handling burials for those who died of the virus, with bodies piling up because testing them for the virus takes time and the cases are rapidly rising in the country, creating a backlog, according to CNN.

I thought the countries with closed borders weren’t affected?

they only know about the infections that people are reporting and being tested for, there are probably closer to 100,000 infected, they just don't know it and most never will.

You can be a closed country and a bad country also.. your point ?

My point is that some dipshit posted yesterday that Russia, Iran, and the other countries that have “closed borders” (and obviously inferring a wall should be built on our southern border) didn’t have any cases of the coronavirus.

But, obviously they do!

A wall certainly helps from people getting into a country. As far as the virus is concerned , so far it seems the virus is getting passed on various ways

In your quest to push a political agenda you look stupid. Because their border is closed with ours does NOT mean its closed with Russia, China, Italy, Germany, and other countries around the US.

Now I see why people rush to buy all the toilet paper for a respiratory virus. We are just full of agenda driven idiots. I do not mean to single you out JohnnyMac, there are many others

I was not pushing a political agenda; I was responding (sarcastically) to another poster who was pushing a political agenda (the US/Mexico wall).

Apology accepted.

Also I thought the warm weather will mitigate the virus.

Maybe no

Iran winters are cold. Their weather is similar to italy. In facts it gets colder in tehran than some parts of italy.

But this mass grave thing is fake news fear mongering by western media. 350 ppl dying in the entire country and mass grave don't go in the same sentence. how naive are ppl these days.
